180 Miles with Team Nuun

I am excited to announce I will be running the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back relay race, traversing the mountainous terrain of Logan, Utah to Midway, Utah, this June.

Supplemental oxygen highly encouraged.

This will be my third Ragnar Relay, the first of which was as the sole male team member in the Florida Keys Ragnar, the second being a part of a winning, ultra (6 person) team in the Cape Cod Ragnar Relay race.

Wasatch Back is the race that started the extremely popular Ragnar Relay Series, and is arguably the toughest of all the Ragnar Relay races, reaching over 7,000 feet above sea level (where the air is rare). According to Ragnar, "This 200-ish mile overnight running relay begins in Northern Utah in the city of Logan and traverses across the back of Utah’s rough and tough Wasatch Mountains. Teams of 12 runners (or ultra-teams of 6 runners) tag team miles across three mountain passes, next to alpine lakes and past fields of wildflowers. When the sun sets, billions of stars, lit-up vans and glowsticks light the night. Teams finish together like champions at Solider Hollow, UT, the home of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games."

What's more exciting is that I will be joining Nuun Hydration as a member of the official Nuun Hydration Ragnar team. My teammates consist of ultrarunners, Ironman athletes, triathletes and hydration experts. To be honest, I'm hoping to be able to keep pace with this group of all stars as we run towards the heavens amidst the Rocky Mountains of Utah.

All the electrolytes and love for the taste buds.

I'm going to do my best to keep you guys close throughout my training (hills, lots and lots of hills), travel to Utah and along the course. I hope you stick around to watch how things unfold.

I'm incredibly excited and can't wait to get to the race.

Run fast. Run smart.
